What To Expect Next - Fall 2022

The Fall 2022 Season is here! We are excited to have you join us and appreciate your support for National Flag Football & 49ers Varsity Flag Football.

Late Registration Is Open! Spots Are Filling Up!

Over the course of this season, we will be sending you emails and texts containing important information. Due to this being a mass email system, please add us to your safe-senders list and frequently check your filters to confirm messages aren't directed to your junk mail, spam, or clutter. 

Communication is key to ensure the success of the league experience for everyone. Included are answers to some common questions you may have. If you have any questions throughout the season, you can email us at [email protected], or call 408-370-0500

Fall registration opens June 1st, and closes September 4th. After the registration deadline, late registration is available, but based upon availability and is not guaranteed. Once registration is full we will build a wait list and fill openings from the waitlist on a first come - first served basis. A $10.00 increase in registration will apply and you will be placed on any team that has openings in your grade division. Buddy requests are less likely to be met during late registration, so please don't wait until the last minute if your child is wanting to play with some of their friends!


Leagues begin October 9th, Dublin/Livermore/Pleasanton ONLY begins October 16th.  ALL LOCATIONS PLAY ON SUNDAY.

Campbell/Cupertino/West San Jose: Prospect High School
Los Gatos/Cambrian/Union: Pioneer High School
Willow Glen: Willow Glen High School
Palo Alto North: Palo Alto High School
Palo Alto South: Gunn High School
San Mateo/Foster City: Aragon High School - League Cancelled, Merging with Palo Alto Leagues
Dublin/Livermore/Pleasanton: Emerald Glen Park
Fremont/Hayward/Union City: James Logan High School


June 1st: Fall registration begins

September 4th: Registration closes, last day for guaranteed placement on a team. Late registration is based upon availability.
September 5th - September 16th: We will be forming teams, confirming coaches, creating schedules and more during this time.  
Week of September 22nd: Player's jersey, flags, and optional equipment purchased at registration will be arriving at Ship-To address provided at registration.

September 26th: All rosters and schedules will be posted no later than September 26th.

Wednesday, October 5th, 7:00pm:  Mandatory Virtual Coaches Meeting online, for all coaches and managers, all locations. Volunteers will receive a team shirt and a game ball prior to the season start.

October 9th: Meet & Greet day and first practice! Time and location posted by October 2nd under SCHEDULES / STANDINGS on landing page. Teams will meet the coach, and participate in the first practice. Bring your mouth guard, jersey and flags! 

October 16th: 1st Day of games. Practice is held 1 hour PRIOR to game time listed each week. Check your schedule under SCHEDULES / STANDINGS.

November 5th: 49ers Flag Football Festival - More information coming soon!

November 20th: Last game day of the season. Final Lombardi and Shula Games - follow posted schedule, Madden playoff & Championship game berths and times are based upon season standings and will be posted by November 15th.

December 4th: League make-up date. Usage of this date is determined in advance by National Flag Football.


*Jerseys, Flag Belts, and a mouth guard must be worn each week. Your jersey and flags, plus any additional merchandise you ordered during your registration, will be shipped directly to your home. Your player must have a mouth guard to participate. Bring your own, or conveniently purchase at the Game Day Tent for $5.

*Shorts or sweatpants without pockets should be worn for practice & games. If a participant wears shorts/pants with pockets, the pockets must be taped down to prohibit players' hands or fingers getting caught when pulling flags. 

*Participants can wear any type of plastic molded cleats, athletic shoes or sneakers.

WHEN WILL I HEAR FROM MY COACH? We are hosting our virtual coaches meeting on October 5th. You should hear from your coach no later than October 3rd.

WHAT ARE THE RETURN TO PLAY PROTOCOLS? Please  visit here to read about our safety initiatives to protect your family this season.  

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY EQUIPMENT? Once we complete putting teams together, we will ship the rosters to our inventory department who will begin to pack and ship out individual equipment to each player. You should expect your NFL FLAG jersey, flag belts, and any other equipment you may have purchased no later than your scheduled Meet & Greet. You must bring a mouth guard to every practice and game. They will be available at the field for $5 each week.
